With the help of a group of women in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, we planted 12,000 neem saplings in the past three years. About 40 women were benefitted immensely from this program.
Each woman planted 300 neem trees. After a period, the women are nurturing the plants and in this way there is environment support in the catchment area. In future, they will be able to supply dry neem leaves and seeds, and neem cake as there is a huge demand for these things in the cosmetic industry and in Ayurveda for medicines through collection centres in the future. It will increase the green cover in the area as an added benefit.
